New Restaurants Set for Old Sunset Grill Building

Nashville-based fast-casual restaurant group Fresh Hospitality is set to expand, again.
 Staff Reporter-Nashville Business Journal

3-27-15

The company has the former home of Hillsboro Village mainstay Sunset Grill under contract, with plans to bring three Fresh concepts to the building, said Matt Bodnar, a partner in the company.

The building, located at 2001 Belcourt Ave., is tucked just off Hillsboro Village’s main drag, and offers 6,359 square feet of space, with the option to share 70 parking spots with neighboring Cabana.

Old Sunset Grill Location

Current owner, restaurateur RandyRayburn, bought the building in 1994. After 24 years operating Sunset Grill, Rayburn closed the restaurant this past New Years Eve, and told the Nashville Business Journal in January that he was looking to sell the building. His asking price? A cool $2.69 million. Rayburn bought the building for roughly $450,000.

Bodnar said Fresh anticipates splitting the 6,000 square foot space into three — two roughly the same same square footage and one slightly smaller. The company hasn’t decided which Fresh concepts it would open in Hillsboro Village, but Bodnar said a Juice Bar and a Taziki’s are being considered.

IS NOSHVILLE MOVING? Say it Aint So!
One of Bud’s favorite eateries in Nashville may be moving. Here is what Adam over at the Nashville Business Journal has to say:

Planned Midtown high-rise could grow larger with sale of coffee shop site
Adam Sichko Senior Reporter Nashville Business Journal

A developer is under contract to buy land at a corner of 19th Avenue and Broadway, which would allow him to expand his plans for a high-rise in that part of Midtown.
The potential purchase puts developer Ardavan Afrakhteh in position to control the full block along Broadway between 20th and Lyle avenues.
This year, Afrakhteh proposed a 25-story building containing a boutique hotel and upscale condos. If it comes to fruition, the building would match the height of two projects proposed by other developers nearby.

Noshville Deli
The original plan called for 120 to 150 condos, and between 150 to 175 hotel rooms.
The building would occupy 0.68 acres over two parcels. Afrakhteh owns one piece of land, and his company is under contract to buy the other — land where the popular restaurant Noshville is located.
